The Lord goes before You

Life is hard and exhausting.  Oh, don’t get me wrong!  I love my life, but with so many things going on around me it is easy to become overwhelmed.  My job and life has stretched me in so many ways, yet it has blessed me.  God has put me right here at this time and has put so many amazing people in my path to help me, encourage me and challenge me.  I thank God because he provided what I needed when I needed it.  There are always so many people in so many walks of life, with the perfect words at the right timing.

Deuteronomy 3 : 8 “It is the Lord that goes before you.  He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you.  Do not fear or be dismayed.”

1 Corinthians 15 : 58 “Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the works of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.”

God is good!

Love Like a Child

I have worked as a teacher for over 20 years.  What a joy it is to work with children as they have this unconditional love for people and the world around them!  I think this kind of love is pretty rare in this world considering the fast pace at which we live.  Matthew 18 : 3  Jesus says, “Assuredly I say to you, unless you change and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.”

For the past three years I have worked more closely with adults than in the classroom with the children.  We have all been here on Earth longer than the little ones,  and it seems to me we have lost the ability to feel pure joy.  Some of us may have been hurt one too many times, so it’s become harder for us to love unconditionally.  We no longer love and encourage each other as we should, sometimes we have accumulated so much baggage that it is easier to find fault in others than see the good in them.

The only way for us to have real joy here on Earth is to keep our eyes focused on Jesus.  He alone will give us that pure joy that passes all understanding.
