The Power of the Kingdom of God
Scripture: Acts 19:11-12(NIV)
11 God did extraordinary miracles through Paul, 12 so that even handkerchiefs and aprons that had touched him were taken to the sick, and their illnesses were cured and the evil spirits left them.
Devotional
After reading these verses “so that even handkerchiefs and aprons that had touched him were taken to the sick, and their illnesses were cured and the evil spirits left them,” I wanted to write a letter to God to thank Him for all the unusual ways He gifts us with items in our life. We don’t realize this until later when He has helped us live our spiritual life.
Dear God, Over the years, I have seen many different manners of help, comfort and love coming from You through many different people, at many stages of my life. Going back to baptisms, the clothes and bibs you place on me and then were passed through my family to be placed on each tiny baby, gave us all hope to be raised in a God loving family and society. I am definitely living my life that way, Thank you.
Over the years the rosaries and Bibles and religious instruction that I received enhanced my love of Jesus and all his works. Thank you for those memories. My sixteen years of education were all Catholic based and taught me to be respectful and kind in all circumstances. Once again God, thank you for filling my life.
There have been several times in my life that I have gifted someone in need, food, clothes, blankets, a visit, and a prayer that has in some way made them comforted. Thank you for those opportunities.
As I have become an adult and began to study the Bible, I have learned so very much that strengthens my beliefs in all that You can do for me. Thank you for that guidance.
I don’t believe there is a day in my life that I am not thankful that you, God, are in my life.
In your precious name, My heavenly Father, Amen.
Take a moment today and Thank Him for just one item.
