    Heavenly Wisdom

    Scripture: James 3:17-18(NIV)

17 But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. 18 Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.

First of all, I do not consider myself wise. I do, however, rely on heavenly wisdom. James 3:17-18 talks of heavenly wisdom being pure, peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. The passage calls for peacemakers to sow peace and reap a harvest of righteousness. That’s the person I would like to be!

I have learned that the Holy Spirit lives within us. I’ve had that proved to me on many occasions when I’ve been called to minister to someone and the words that came from my mouth were not words that I would have known to say. I believe the Holy Spirit can speak through us if we allow it.

I’ve been with two people on their death beds. God spoke to them, through me, with words of comfort and hope. I am not versed enough to do that. God is. God imparts His Heavenly Wisdom through us if we will allow it. Sometimes he speaks through us by his Word in the Scriptures. Possibly something we’ve read the day before is something the person we are talking to needs to hear. Sometimes it’s something WE need to hear. I love how God imparts his Heavenly Wisdom into our hearts. It just simply amazes me. I pray for that for you. If you haven’t had that experience yet, I pray that you receive it.

Prayer: Loving God, we pray for your heavenly wisdom. We know you are the master creator. We know that all wisdom comes from you and through you. We ask for your discernment in our lives that you can help us grow in understanding your Word to us and through us. Help us to understand the wisdom you impart to us when we study your Scriptures. Thank you, Lord God, for loving us and helping us grow in our spirit. Amen
