At Fishers UMC, we believe stewardship is more than a season—it’s a way of living as grateful disciples of Jesus Christ. Everything we have and all that we are belong to God, and we are invited to respond with lives marked by generosity, purpose, and trust. Stewardship is our opportunity to recognize God’s blessings, celebrate the ministry we share, and prayerfully consider how we can support the mission God has placed before us.
Over a four week period, our church family has explored what it means to give of our time, talents, gifts, service, and witness. Through teaching, storytelling, and shared reflection, we’ve looked at how faithful stewardship strengthens our church, deepens our spiritual lives, and makes a real impact in our community and beyond.
WEEK 1
GOD'S GOOD AND PERFECT GIFTS
God generously blesses us with his Grace and with skills, talents and Spiritual gifts. These gifts allow us to live into our calling for his Kingdom work and to also make a living. Stewardship is managing all these gifts and the fruit of our labor between giving back to God and providing for our family and life. Fishers United Methodist Church is blessed that you choose to share your gifts here in helping the church live into its mission.
This week Greg Arnott talked about the finances of our church and how the church is a steward of the money that it receives and how that money is used for its mission. As we approach our commitment Sunday on November 23, 2025, we ask that you prayerfully consider how your gifts can be used to allow the church to continue its mission. Greg also asked you to consider any additional financial gifts you might share to allow us to build our Stores of Oil. Tap below to watch the video. Also below are links to learn more about Stores of Oil and a special stewardship prayer resource provided by the Fishers UMC Prayer Ministry.
WEEK 2
LIVING OUR MISSION
This week, Tiffany shared that by living our mission of Making Disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world causes us all to grow in our faith. We have connected with believers and shared the love of Jesus from Fishers to the world. All of the ministries of Fishers United Methodist Church work toward the mission and are all supported by our operating budget. We need to consider our regular gifts of service and money to supporting the church not as just giving, but as participation in God’s work and investments in discipleship! Watch Tiffany’s message in the video below.
WEEK 3
SERVING GOD'S FAMILY
Our church is blessed with wonderful members that are generous with their service. This week, Pastor Ben talked about opportunities to serve our neighbors through our many ministries such as the Come to Me Food Pantry and Helping Hands. He also shared how our church is impacting lives in ways many may not see, reading a touching letter from a family who wanted to thank the Fishers United Methodist Church congregation for its support. Our ministries need the generosity of time and talents to serve God’s family, but we also need financial giving to support our operating budget which supports all of our ministries. Dollars given to the operating fund are actually some of the most important missional giving that we receive as it supports all of our ministries. Watch Pastor Ben's video below.
