About Fishers UMC Kids

What is Kidcheck? All children ages infant through 6th grade are required to check in electronically every Sunday prior to going to class. The check-in stations are located downstairs inside of Door #4 and upstairs in the Children's Ministry lobby.  Both can be accessed by entering through Door #4 and proceeding up the stairs directly ahead. Guests who are visiting will also be asked to use this system. Kidcheck is a safe and secure system that is easy to use.

Want to skip the line? Kidcheck now offers Express Check-In.  All you have to do is download the Kidcheck App to your iOS or Android device and set it up.  You can check your kids into his/her class before you even walk into the door!  Pick up your kids name tags at the print hub located downstairs in the Family Life Center (FLC) lobby inside of Door #4. What will my little one be doing? From ages 3 and up, your kiddos will be learning lessons from the Bible. The 3's through Pre-K class currently uses Group's Hands-On Bible and Dig-In curriculums.  Both of these curriculums are hands-on and super fun for the kids! Infants through two year olds will enjoy an hour of free-play, story time, and snack time.

9:45 AM Children's Worship Hour—K-4th grade students meet in the Children’s Worship Room (218) for Large Group worship and then break out into small groups based on grade levels for 20 minutes.

11:00 AM Discipleship Hour - Following the Children's Moment in the 11:00 Worship service, children Pre-K through 4th grade are invited to go upstairs for a 45 minute Discipleship class.

What do the elementary kids do?   Each week, the kids are engaged in lessons that are fun, interactive, and true to God’s Word.  We use several different curriculums including: Elevate, known for it's high energy and Group's Dig-In and Hand's On curriculums, both known for being interactive! Your kids will love getting to play games, sing songs, meet with small groups, all while learning important truths from the Bible!

Why is the 9:45 hour called Children’s Worship? It is called Children’s Worship because we mirror what is done in “Big Church,” by including opening songs, the Lord’s prayer, an offering, and of course, the message!

How can my kids connect outside of Sunday morning? Fishers UMC offers many opportunities for kids to engage in our community.  From Upward basketball, Vacation Bible School, Parent Night Outs, Christmas caroling, community-based mission projects, multi-generational events, and seasonal events, your kids can connect throughout the year!

How can I serve alongside my kids? There are lots of ways to be a part of the Fishers UMC Kids team! One of the most profound and rewarding ways to serve is by leading a small group during Children's Worship or teaching during the Discipleship hour.  To register to volunteer or to learn more, contact Jenica at .

The safety of children is very important to Fishers UMC. All staff, volunteers, and lay persons working with children must complete a background check every two years and be trained in Policy and Procedures annually.

Connecting with god

Third Grade Bibles: Each September, 3rd grade students receive as Adventure Bible as a gift from the church family.  The students and their parents are invited to attend a four week class that begins to introduce the Bible to them on a deeper level and helps them to navigate it's many books.
Confirmation: Confirmation is for 6th and 7th grade students who are interested in growing in their faith, confirming their baptism and joining the church.  Confirmation classes begin in January and go through May. The students and their mentors attend weekly Sunday evening classes, a Day with Jesus, as well as serve in mission work. Questions or concerns? Please contact Liz Simmonds( .
